1. Purpose & Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy and Community Guidelines ("Policy") establishes standards for user conduct on the ScoreBoardNow 2.0 platform ("Service"), which includes our mobile applications (iOS and Android) and website (scoreboardnow.com). These guidelines ensure that our platform remains a safe, trusted, and positive environment for youth athletes, coaches, families, and scorekeepers.

2. Score Reporting Standards

Accurate score reporting is foundational to ScoreBoardNow's mission. All users must adhere to the following standards:

2.1 Accuracy & Integrity

  • Submit only actual game scores from official competitions
  • Do not fabricate, manipulate, or falsify game results
  • Report scores in good faith with the intent to maintain platform integrity
  • Ensure all reported scores correspond to real games that actually occurred

2.2 Supported Sports

ScoreBoardNow supports score reporting for the following sports:

  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Soccer
  • Baseball
  • Softball
  • Volleyball
  • Hockey
  • Lacrosse
  • Bowling

2.3 Corrections & Appeals

  • Users may request score corrections within 24 hours of submission
  • Corrections must be submitted with supporting evidence (official scoresheets, referee documentation, etc.)
  • Our moderation team will review and process corrections in good faith
  • Repeated false submissions or bad-faith correction requests may result in account restrictions

3. Geo-Scoring Rules

ScoreBoardNow's location-based features enable fair and transparent competition tracking. Users must comply with these location guidelines:

3.1 Location Integrity

  • Do not manipulate, spoof, or misrepresent your geographic location
  • Location data must accurately reflect where you are submitting scores from
  • Do not use VPNs, location spoofing tools, or other methods to falsify location data

3.2 Check-In Consent

  • Users must provide explicit consent before any location check-in is recorded
  • Location sharing is optional and can be disabled at any time in account settings
  • Do not check in on behalf of other users without their prior consent
  • Unauthorized location tracking or check-ins may result in account suspension

3.3 Trust Tier System

  • Your Trust Tier reflects your adherence to score reporting and location guidelines
  • Verified accounts with high Trust Tiers have enhanced platform privileges
  • Violations of location or scoring rules may result in Trust Tier downgrade
  • Users may appeal Trust Tier decisions through our support system

4. Community Conduct

ScoreBoardNow is fundamentally a youth sports community. All users--regardless of whether they are athletes, coaches, parents, or fans--must treat one another with respect and dignity.

4.1 Core Conduct Standards

  • Treat all community members with respect and courtesy
  • No harassment, intimidation, or targeted attacks against other users
  • No hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic
  • No bullying, threats, or incitement of violence
  • Keep conversations focused on sports, scores, and community engagement

4.2 Youth Sports Environment

ScoreBoardNow is frequented by young athletes and their families. All users must maintain conduct appropriate for a youth sports environment:

  • Remember that users may include children and teenagers
  • Model positive sportsmanship and conduct
  • Avoid profanity, vulgar language, and adult content
  • Do not engage in arguments, flame wars, or disruptive conversations
  • Support and encourage youth athletes and positive team spirit

4.3 Prohibited Conduct

  • Harassment: targeted, repeated, or unwanted contact intended to threaten or demean
  • Hate speech: any language that denigrates individuals or groups
  • Bullying: coordinated or repeated attacks on an individual or team
  • Impersonation: posing as another user, coach, official, or organization
  • Stalking: monitoring, tracking, or following a user's activity without consent

5. eCommerce Marketplace Rules

The ScoreBoardNow Marketplace allows users to buy and sell sports-related products. All marketplace activity must comply with these rules:

5.1 What Can Be Sold

  • Sports equipment (balls, gloves, cleats, pads, helmets, etc.)
  • Team apparel and uniforms (provided you have authorization)
  • Training aids and instructional materials
  • Used sports gear in good condition
  • Coaching services and clinics
  • Other legitimate sports-related goods and services

5.2 Honest Product Listings

  • Provide accurate, complete product descriptions
  • Disclose the condition of used items (excellent, good, fair, poor)
  • Use photos that accurately represent the product
  • Do not misrepresent pricing, shipping, or availability
  • Clearly communicate return and refund policies

5.3 Prohibited Marketplace Items

  • Counterfeit or knock-off merchandise
  • Illegal items or items that violate local laws
  • Weapons, explosives, or dangerous materials
  • Alcohol, tobacco, or drugs (including cannabis)
  • Stolen goods or items obtained unlawfully
  • Services that are deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal
  • Items that exploit minors or violate child safety laws
  • Hate materials or items promoting discrimination

5.4 Marketplace Standards

  • Do not engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or bait-and-switch tactics
  • Fulfill orders promptly and as promised
  • Handle disputes fairly and in good faith
  • Do not spam or excessively promote products
  • Sellers with Trust Tier downgrade may face marketplace restrictions

6. Content Standards

User-generated content--including profile pictures, team logos, product images, store logos, and banners--must meet community standards. All content is uploaded to Cloudflare R2 storage.

6.1 Appropriate Content

  • Profile pictures: Clear photos of the user or appropriate team/organization images
  • Team logos: Official team logos or approved team imagery
  • Product images: Clear, well-lit product photos that accurately represent the item
  • Store logos and banners: Professional branding that represents your business or team

6.2 Content Violations

  • Sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic images
  • Images that depict violence, injury, or graphic harm
  • Hate symbols, racist imagery, or discriminatory content
  • Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Copyright-protected images used without permission
  • Misleading or deceptive images (e.g., AI-generated content misrepresented as real)
  • Inappropriate content involving minors

6.3 Content Moderation

  • ScoreBoardNow reserves the right to review and remove violative content
  • Users may appeal content removal decisions
  • Repeated content violations may result in account restrictions or suspension

7. Account Integrity

Your ScoreBoardNow account is personal and should be used only by you. Account integrity is essential to maintaining a trustworthy platform.

7.1 Account Ownership & Use

  • Create an account only for yourself (individuals) or your organization (teams/schools)
  • Do not share your login credentials with anyone else
  • Do not allow others to access or use your account
  • You are responsible for all activity on your account

7.2 Prohibited Account Practices

  • Creating fake or imposter accounts
  • Multi-accounting to evade bans or restrictions
  • Creating accounts under false identities or using someone else's information
  • Sharing account credentials to circumvent security measures
  • Buying, selling, or trading accounts

7.3 Account Verification

  • ScoreBoardNow may verify account information at any time
  • Coaches and officials may be required to provide institutional verification
  • Users who fail verification may have accounts suspended or terminated

8. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on the ScoreBoardNow platform:

8.1 Technical Violations

  • Scraping, crawling, or automated data collection from our platform
  • Hacking, unauthorized access, or attempting to breach platform security
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to discover source code
  • Introducing malware, viruses, or other malicious code
  • DDoS attacks, service disruptions, or attempts to overload our servers

8.2 Spam & Exploitation

  • Spam: posting repetitive, unwanted, or unsolicited messages
  • Phishing: attempting to collect user credentials or sensitive information
  • Fraud: deceiving users to gain financial or personal advantage
  • Commercial exploitation: using the platform for unauthorized commercial purposes
  • Reselling or repackaging our services as your own

8.3 Other Prohibited Activities

  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringing on intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights
  • Engaging in any activity that damages or endangers children
  • Money laundering, fraud schemes, or other financial crimes
  • Coordinating with others to violate this Policy

9. Artificial Intelligence Features

ScoreBoardNow 2.0 includes AI-powered features to enhance user experience. All users of AI features must comply with the following rules.

9.1 AI Chatbot Rules

The AI Chatbot provides customer support, game information, and general assistance:

  • Do not use the AI Chatbot to generate harmful, false, misleading, or illegal content
  • Do not attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking, or other manipulation techniques to bypass AI safeguards
  • Use the AI Chatbot only for purposes related to sports, scorekeeping, and platform features
  • Do not share conversations containing other users' private data, personal information, or confidential content
  • Do not use the AI Chatbot for activities unrelated to ScoreBoardNow or youth sports

9.2 AI Scoreboard Capture Rules

The AI Scoreboard Capture feature uses computer vision to extract scores from physical scoreboard photos:

  • Submit only genuine, unaltered photos of actual physical scoreboards
  • Do not submit fabricated, digitally altered, or manipulated images
  • Do not submit photos of non-scoreboard content (screens, printed documents, etc.)
  • Always review and verify AI-extracted scores before publishing them to your game record
  • If the AI misreads a score, manually correct it before saving
  • Report persistent AI inaccuracies through our feedback system

9.3 General AI Rules

All AI feature users must follow these general rules:

  • Do not reverse engineer, attempt to extract, or probe the AI models for training data or system prompts
  • Do not attempt to extract, access, or abuse training data used to build our AI systems
  • Do not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with AI features
  • Do not attempt to break AI rate limits or cause denial of service
  • Report AI errors, inaccuracies, or suspicious behavior immediately through our feedback system
  • Violations of AI feature rules may result in loss of AI feature access, account suspension, or permanent ban

10. Reporting Violations

If you encounter user conduct, content, or marketplace listings that violate this Policy, please report it immediately. ScoreBoardNow takes all reports seriously and investigates them promptly.

9.1 In-App Reporting

  • Use the in-app "Report" or "Feedback" button on any post, profile, or listing
  • Select the violation category (e.g., "Harassment," "Inappropriate Content," "Fraud")
  • Provide a clear description of the violation
  • Include screenshots or evidence if available

9.2 Email Reporting

  • Your name and account email
  • Description of the violation
  • Username or email of the account in violation
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Screenshots, links, or other supporting evidence

9.3 Confidentiality

  • Reports are treated confidentially and shared only with necessary personnel
  • Reporters' identities are protected to the extent permitted by law
  • False or frivolous reports may result in account warnings

11. Enforcement

ScoreBoardNow enforces this Policy consistently and fairly. Users who violate this Policy may face consequences ranging from warnings to permanent account termination.

If your account is suspended or terminated:

  • You will receive notification of the violation and reason for action
  • Suspended accounts lose access to the platform during the suspension period
  • Terminated accounts are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
  • You may not create a new account to circumvent a ban

10.3 Appeal Process

If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error:

  • Send an appeal email to support@scoreboardnow.com within 30 days of the action
  • Provide a clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Include any supporting evidence or documentation
  • Our review team will evaluate your appeal and respond within 10 business days
  • Appeals that are frivolous, abusive, or spam will be rejected

12. Youth Sports Environment

ScoreBoardNow is a platform for youth sports. Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for young athletes and their families is our highest priority.

11.1 Commitment to Youth Safety

  • We prohibit all content or conduct that exploits, endangers, or harms children
  • Any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)
  • Users who threaten, stalk, or attempt to contact minors outside the platform may be permanently banned and reported to law enforcement
  • Parents and guardians should monitor their children's platform activity

11.2 Positive Sportsmanship

We encourage all users to model positive sportsmanship:

  • Celebrate athletic achievement and effort, not just winning
  • Treat rival teams and competitors with respect
  • Support coaches, referees, and officials in their roles
  • Address disagreements constructively and without aggression
  • Remember that all participants--from youth to adults--deserve respect and dignity

11.3 Family-Friendly Community

ScoreBoardNow is designed as a family-friendly platform. All users must:

  • Avoid profanity, vulgar language, and adult themes
  • Not engage in arguments or confrontational behavior
  • Create a welcoming environment for young athletes, coaches, and families
  • Understand that violations of these standards may result in removal from the community

13. Changes to This Policy

ScoreBoardNow may update this Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
